    How to care for a ball Python

     Enclosure: Provide a secure and spacious habitat with appropriate substrate, hiding spots, and climbing opportunities for your ball python.

     Temperature and Humidity: Maintain a temperature gradient (warm side: 80-85°F, cool side: 75-80°F) and humidity levels around 50-60% 

     Diet: Feed a diet primarily consisting of appropriately sized rodents, adjusting the frequency based on the snake's age and size. 

     Handling: Handle your ball python gently and regularly to promote socialization, but avoid excessive handling, especially after feeding. 

     Health Monitoring: Regularly check for signs of health issues, such as shedding problems or changes in appetite, and consult a veterinarian if needed 


    Other key points to know about ball pythons

     

    • Size: Hatchlings are 25-43 cm long; adults reach 0.9-1.5 meters, with some reports up to 1.83 meters12.
    • Lifespan: Can live 30 years or more in captivity, with a record over 40 years2.
    • Behavior: Shy, non-venomous, and primarily nocturnal. They are known for forming a tight ball for defense
    • Breeding Season: Mid-September to mid-November1.
    • Clutch Size: 1-11 eggs1.
    • Sexual Dimorphism: Females are larger than males and have longer jaws
